The Crago Mill Civic Precinct is situated in Yass, NSW a town of approximately 7,000 people about an hour's drive from Canberra.
Yass Valley Council commissioned the redevelopment of an under-utilised site surrounding a 150-year-old flour mill located just off the town's main street. The project brief was for Council's new administrative offices and customer service facilities, library, public plaza, and the restoration and adaptive reuse of the mill building. The project is about the creation of a new community precinct surrounding the heritage mill incorporating extensive landscaping and public domain works.
The Crago Mill Precinct development is nearing completion, with construction on the administration and library buildings progressing well with handover and occupation anticipated for early 2026. This stage also includes carparking and landscaping works.
BHA are working with David Payne Constructions to bring this new public precinct to life.
