Maria Colella

Maria is a Director at Brewster Hjorth Architects with over 20 years experience exemplified by an extensive architectural and interiors portfolio of successful and innovative projects. Maria has successfully managed and delivered multiple complex projects from project inception through to the post construction, through effective communication and management of dedicated project teams.

Maria successfully orchestrates every aspect of a project, from master planning, briefing and design to construction administration, post- occupancy evaluation. Maria’s expertise is managing both the project program and budget while still ensuring the project objectives established in the concept phase are realised.

Her core strength is developing symbiotic relationships with clients and managing complex projects, often with multiple stakeholders. She embraces the opportunity to actively engage clients in the design and planning process, resulting in an authentic collaborative process that achieves innovative solutions, unique to every project. Bringing a constancy and rigour in this approach whilst always striving to identify opportunities for her clients to enhance the projects potential and value.

Her excellent communication skills and extensive experience means that she is able to lead large architectural and consultant teams, delivering innovative architectural solutions.

Maria has most recently been working on several aquatic projects including the Epping Pool and the Carnes Hill Aquatic and Recreation Centre, as well as working with FRNSW of new Fire Stations at Kingscliff, Cessnock, Lithgow, Wentworthville and Byron Bay.
