New Fire Station for Cessnock opens

BHA is proud to work with FRNSW and GHD to deliver a new Fire Station to the Hunter. The new Cessnock Fire Station officially opened on July 1 2025 following a $7 million investment from the NSW Government.

The new station replaces the previous station, which served the community for over 100 years.The new station is designed to support future growth in Cessnock and the surrounding areas, with features including four engine bays, dedicated training rooms, and "clean firefighter" zones.

The station is equipped to house more vehicles, equipment, and staff. expanded crew amenities, dedicated decontamination zones and training areas. It will be home to up to 27 firefighters as well as two fire trucks, with the capacity to accommodate additional appliances and equipment as the region continues to grow.

Located in a central part of Cessnock, the upgraded station will enable faster response times and better support for the surrounding areas, including Aberdare, Bellbird, Kitchener, Neath and Pokolbin.
